Jackson was born in [Savannah, Georgia](/source/Savannah%2C_Georgia) and attended the [University of Utah](/source/University_of_Utah). A 6'3" [guard](/source/guard_(basketball)), he played in the [American Basketball Association](/source/American_Basketball_Association) from 1968 to 1973 as a member of the [Los Angeles / Utah Stars](/source/Utah_Stars) and [Memphis Tams](/source/Memphis_Tams). He won a league championship with Utah in 1971 and appeared in the [1969 ABA All-Star Game](/source/1969_ABA_All-Star_Game).
