**MemeStreams** is an early [social networking](/source/Social_networking) website, [online community](/source/Online_community), and [blog](/source/Blog) host that was established in 2001 by Industrial Memetics.[1]

Created by [Tom Cross](/source/Tom_Cross_(computer_security)) and [Nick Levay](/source/Nick_Levay),[2][3] the site is particularly popular among computer security professionals.[2][4] Michael Lynn ([Ciscogate](/source/Ciscogate)), [Virgil Griffith](/source/Virgil_Griffith) ([Wikiscanner](/source/Wikiscanner)), Billy Hoffman (Ajax Security), and Dolemite (organizer of [PhreakNIC](/source/PhreakNIC)) are all members of the site.

Memestreams employs a [reputation system](/source/Reputation_system).[5]
