**Carmelo "Melo" Lim** is a Filipino coach and former collegiate player who is currently serving as an assistant coach for [NLEX Road Warriors](/source/NLEX_Road_Warriors) since 2023. He is the son of former collegiate champion coach [Frankie Lim](/source/Frankie_Lim).

## Basketball career

### Playing

Lim played for [San Beda Red Lions](/source/San_Beda_Red_Lions_basketball) under the tutelage of his father.[1][2] Melo played his final year without his father,[3] as the latter was suspended by NCAA committee for 2 years due to an altercation with [San Sebastian volleyball](/source/San_Sebastian_Lady_Stags_volleyball) coach [Roger Gorayeb](/source/Roger_Gorayeb).[4] The same year, they won their third straight championship.[5]

Melo graduated in San Beda in 2013 together with [Jake Pascual](/source/Jake_Pascual) and [Anjo Caram](/source/Anjo_Caram).[6]

### Coaching

He served as an assistant to his father at [Perpetual Altas](/source/Perpetual_Altas_basketball), and later on [NLEX Road Warriors](/source/NLEX_Road_Warriors).[7] Even his father was dismissed, he was retained by the NLEX management.[8]

## Personal life

He is the second youngest son of Frankie Lim and wife Olen.[4]
