**Meekey** is a village in [Batala](/source/Batala) in [Gurdaspur district](/source/Gurdaspur_district) of [Punjab](/source/Punjab%2C_India) [State](/source/States_and_territories_of_India), India. It is located 24 kilometres (15 mi) from sub district headquarter, 54 kilometres (34 mi) from district headquarter and 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) from [Sri Hargobindpur](/source/Sri_Hargobindpur). The village is [administrated](/source/Administration_(government)) by [Sarpanch](/source/Sarpanch) an elected representative of the village.

## Demography

As of 2011[\[update\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Meekey&action=edit), the village has a total number of 221 houses and a population of 1285 of which 690 are males while 595 are females.[1] According to the report [published](/source/Published) by [Census India](/source/Census_India) in 2011, out of the total population of the village 282 people are from [Schedule Caste](/source/Scheduled_Castes_and_Scheduled_Tribes) and the village does not have any [Schedule Tribe](/source/Scheduled_Castes_and_Scheduled_Tribes) population so far.[1][2]
