The **Meade Islands** are a group of two large islands, [Zverino Island](/source/Zverino_Island) and [Cave Island](/source/Cave_Island), the minor [Pisanitsa Island](/source/Pisanitsa_Island), and several rocks lying in the north entrance to [McFarlane Strait](/source/McFarlane_Strait), off [Archar Peninsula](/source/Archar_Peninsula), [Greenwich Island](/source/Greenwich_Island) in the [South Shetland Islands](/source/South_Shetland_Islands), [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica).[1] The surface areas of the first two islands are 48 hectares (120 acres)[2] and 18 hectares (44 acres).[2] respectively. The area was visited by early 19th-century [sealers](/source/Seal_hunting).

The islands were charted in 1935 by [Discovery Investigations](/source/Discovery_Investigations) and named after C.M. Meade, Cartographer-in-charge in the [Admiralty Hydrographic Office](/source/United_Kingdom_Hydrographic_Office) at that time.
