The **McConnell River** is located in the [Kivalliq Region](/source/Kivalliq_Region) of [northern Canada](/source/Northern_Canada)'s territory of [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut). It drains into [Hudson Bay](/source/Hudson_Bay) and is the namesake for the [Kuugaarjuk Migratory Bird Sanctuary](/source/Kuugaarjuk_Migratory_Bird_Sanctuary).[2]

It is home to [snow](/source/Snow_goose) (blue) and [Canada geese](/source/Canada_goose).
