**Maxime De Zeeuw** (born 26 April 1987) is a Belgian professional [basketball](/source/Basketball) player who last played for [Limburg United](/source/Limburg_United) of the [BNXT League](/source/BNXT_League). De Zeeuw usually plays at the [power forward](/source/Power_forward_(basketball)) position. He has also been a member of the [Belgian national basketball team](/source/Belgium_national_basketball_team), whom he played with at the [European championships](/source/EuroBasket) of [2011](/source/EuroBasket_2011), [2013](/source/EuroBasket_2013), [2015](/source/EuroBasket_2015), and [2017](/source/EuroBasket_2017).[1]

## Professional career

During the 2013-2014 [EuroChallenge](/source/EuroChallenge) campaign with his team [Antwerp Giants](/source/Antwerp_Giants), De Zeeuw was awarded the title of European Player of the Year and Best Defensive Player of the Year by *[Eurobasket.com](/source/Eurobasket.com)*.[2]

De Zeeuw had an impressive 2013–14 season, in which he was named [Belgian Player of the Year](/source/Belgian_Player_of_the_Year_(basketball)).[3]

For the 2014–15 season, De Zeeuw signed a contract with [Acea Roma](/source/Virtus_Roma) of the [Italian](/source/Italy) [LBA](/source/Lega_Basket_Serie_A).[4]

For the 2015–16 season, De Zeeuw signed with the Czech team [ČEZ Nymburk](/source/Basketball_Nymburk) of [EuroCup](/source/EuroCup_Basketball).[5]

On 29 June 2016 De Zeeuw signed with [EWE Baskets Oldenburg](/source/EWE_Baskets_Oldenburg) of the [Basketball Bundesliga](/source/Basketball_Bundesliga).[6]

On 16 July 2018 De Zeeuw signed a two-year deal with [Monbus Obradoiro](/source/Obradoiro_CAB) of the [Liga ACB](/source/Liga_ACB).[7] He averaged 3.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in the 2019-20 season.

On 19 September 2020 De Zeeuw signed with [Stelmet Zielona Góra](/source/Basket_Zielona_G%C3%B3ra) of the [PLK](/source/Polish_Basketball_League) and the [VTB United League](/source/VTB_United_League).[8] On 28 September 2020, without playing a single game, his contract has been terminated by mutual agreement.[9]

On 23 November 2020 he signed with [Hapoel Holon](/source/Hapoel_Holon) of the [Israeli Basketball Premier League](/source/Israeli_Basketball_Premier_League).[10]

On 27 January 2022 De Zeeuw signed with [New Basket Brindisi](/source/New_Basket_Brindisi) of the [Lega Basket Serie A](/source/Lega_Basket_Serie_A).[11]

On 1 July 2022 he signed with [Limburg United](/source/Limburg_United) of the [BNXT League](/source/BNXT_League).[12]

## International career

He represented Belgium at the [EuroBasket 2015](/source/EuroBasket_2015) where they lost to [Greece](/source/Greece_national_basketball_team) in eighth finals with 75–54.[13]
