==Biography==
Snodderly got a scholarship to attend [MIT](/source/MIT) and received bachelor's and master's degrees in [electrical engineering](/source/electrical_engineering), followed by a doctorate in biology from the [Rockefeller University](/source/Rockefeller_University). He completed postdoctoral training in [psychology](/source/psychology) at the [University of California, Berkeley](/source/University_of_California%2C_Berkeley) and . As soon as he graduated he became faculty member at both [Schepens Eye Research Institute](/source/Schepens_Eye_Research_Institute) and [Harvard Medical School](/source/Harvard_Medical_School) and was a professor of ophthalmology at the [Medical College of Georgia](/source/Medical_College_of_Georgia) before he came to the [University of Texas](/source/University_of_Texas). When he came there, he was appointed as professor of [Nutritional Sciences](/source/Nutritional_Sciences) in a course ''International Nutrition'' and ''Visual Neuroscience''. In 2011 he switched his position to [neurobiology](/source/neurobiology) and became a member of [Institute for Neuroscience](/source/Institute_for_Neuroscience) and the [Center for Perceptual Systems](/source/Center_for_Perceptual_Systems).<ref name=utexas/>
