**Max Burey** (born 25 February 1999) is an Australian professional [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) player who plays as a [fly-half](/source/Fly-half_(rugby_union)) for [Super Rugby](/source/Super_Rugby) club [Western Force](/source/Western_Force).[1]

## Early life

Burey is from [Wagga Wagga](/source/Wagga_Wagga) in New South Wales and has represented [Northern Suburbs](/source/Northern_Suburbs_Rugby_Club) since he was a teenager. He had previously trained with the [Western Force](/source/Western_Force), but didn't earn a contract, and instead represented the [Australia Sevens](/source/Australia_national_rugby_sevens_team) side.[2][3] He had previously played rugby league before converting to union.[4]

## Club career

Burey was called into the [Force](/source/Western_Force) side for Round 11 of the [2023 Super Rugby Pacific season](/source/2023_Super_Rugby_Pacific_season) against the [Crusaders](/source/Crusaders_(rugby_union)).[5][6] In June 2023, he re-signed for the side until 2025.[7]
