# Maurice Hutton

**Maurice Percy Hutton** (21 March 1903 – 20 February 1940) was an [Australian rules footballer](/source/Australian_rules_football) who played with [Sturt](/source/Sturt_Football_Club) in the [South Australian Football League](/source/South_Australian_National_Football_League) (SAFL),[3] and [cricketer](/source/Cricket) who played in two [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) matches for [South Australia](/source/South_Australia_cricket_team) in the [1928/29 Sheffield Shield](/source/1928%E2%80%9329_Sheffield_Shield_season).[1]

Hutton was born at [Parkside, South Australia](/source/Parkside,_South_Australia) in 1903.[1] His father [Percy Hutton](/source/Percy_Hutton) and brother [Harvey Hutton](/source/Harvey_Hutton) also played cricket for South Australia, as did his cousin [Mervyn Hutton](/source/Mervyn_Hutton).[2] He died at [Mitcham, South Australia](/source/Mitcham,_South_Australia) in 1940 aged 36.[1][2]
