# Maurice Choisy

French botanist and lichenologist

**Maurice Gustave Benoît Choisy** (29 June 1897 – 19 June 1966) was a French [mycologist](/source/Mycologist) and [lichenologist](/source/Lichenologist). He was a member of the [Botanical Society of France](/source/Soci%C3%A9t%C3%A9_botanique_de_France), the [Mycological Society of France](/source/Soci%C3%A9t%C3%A9_mycologique_de_France), and the [Linnean Society of Lyon](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Linnean_Society_of_Lyon&action=edit&redlink=1) [[fr](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soci%C3%A9t%C3%A9_linn%C3%A9enne_de_Lyon)]. He was president of the botanical section of the latter society from 1949 to 1950.[1]
