# Matty Lochhead

**Matthew Lochhead** (19 August 1884 – 1964) was a Scottish professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [centre half](/source/Centre_half) in the [Southern League](/source/Southern_Football_League) for [Swindon Town](/source/Swindon_Town_F.C.).[2][3] He also played in the [Scottish League](/source/Scottish_Football_League)[4][5][a] and the [Football League](/source/The_Football_League).[1][6][7][8]

## Personal life

Lochhead served as a [company sergeant major](/source/Company_sergeant_major) in the [Royal Scots Fusiliers](/source/Royal_Scots_Fusiliers) during the [First World War](/source/First_World_War).[9]
