**Mathew Ryan Jones** (born 30 November 1995) is an English [footballer](/source/Association_football).

## Playing career

Jones came through the youth system of his hometown club, [Swindon Town](/source/Swindon_Town_F.C.), where he signed as an 11-year-old.[1] In March 2014, Jones was sent on a work experience loan to [Swindon Supermarine](/source/Swindon_Supermarine_F.C.) but he returned to his parent club and made his professional football debut on the final day of the 2013–14 season as a second-half substitute against [Rotherham United](/source/Rotherham_United_F.C.).[2]

He is the son of the former [Aberdeen](/source/Aberdeen_F.C.), [Swindon Town](/source/Swindon_Town_F.C.) and [Reading](/source/Reading_F.C.) midfielder [Tom Jones](/source/Tom_Jones_(footballer_born_1964)).[3]
