## Geography

Mattis Point is in [Newfoundland](/source/Newfoundland_(island)) within [Subdivision C](/source/Division_No._4,_Subdivision_C,_Newfoundland_and_Labrador) of [Division No. 4](/source/Division_No._4,_Newfoundland_and_Labrador).[1]

## Demographics

As a designated place in the [2016 Census of Population](/source/Canada_2016_Census) conducted by [Statistics Canada](/source/Statistics_Canada), Mattis Point recorded a population of 132 living in 56 of its 59 total private dwellings, a change of 2.33% from its 2011 population of 129. With a land area of 6.49 km2 (2.51 sq mi), it had a population density of in 2016.[2]

## Government

Mattis Point is a local service district (LSD)[3] that is governed by a committee responsible for the provision of certain services to the community.[4] The chair of the LSD committee is Cynthia Bennett.[3]
