Quick grew up in [Oaklyn, New Jersey](/source/Oaklyn%2C_New_Jersey) and graduated from [Collingswood High School](/source/Collingswood_High_School). He has a degree in English literature and secondary education from [La Salle University](/source/La_Salle_University) and an MFA from [Goddard College](/source/Goddard_College).
