**Matthew M. Longjohn** is an American physician and politician serving as a member of the [Michigan House of Representatives](/source/Michigan_House_of_Representatives) since January 2025, representing the [40th district](/source/Michigan's_40th_House_of_Representatives_district).[1][2][3] A member of the Democratic Party, he was the [Democratic](/source/Democratic_Party_(United_States)) nominee for [Michigan's 6th congressional district](/source/Michigan's_6th_congressional_district) in the [2018 elections](/source/2018_United_States_House_of_Representatives_elections_in_Michigan#District_6),[4][5] losing to incumbent [Fred Upton](/source/Fred_Upton).[6]
