**Matt Ferrell** is an American [YouTube](/source/YouTube) host best known for his channel **Undecided**.

## Education and Career

Ferrell earned an undergraduate degree in Communication and Information Design from [Nazareth College](/source/Nazareth_College) and a masters degree in 1999 from [Emerson College](/source/Emerson_College).[1][2]

Prior to starting his YouTube series, Ferrell worked as a [UI/UX designer](/source/User_experience_design) in the software industry around [Massachusetts](/source/Massachusetts) for 20 years.[2] This included 4 years as Senior Creative Director at [Game Show Network](/source/Game_Show_Network) and creative lead on its game [WorldWinner](/source/WorldWinner).[1]

## Undecided

Ferrell began the Undecided series on YouTube in 2018,[3][4] initially produced the series while still working before the channel became a full-time job funded by [AdSense](/source/Google_AdSense) revenue, [Patreon](/source/Patreon) supporters, [affiliate links](/source/Affiliate_marketing), and in-video advertisements.[5][2]

The channel focuses on sustainable and smart technologies, and includes documenting smart upgrades to his 1950s home,[6] and later construction and move to [net zero](/source/Net_zero) [passive house](/source/Passive_house)[7][8][9]. He also reviewing individual products and his experience with [solar power](/source/Solar_power),[10][11] [home energy storage](/source/Home_energy_storage), and [geothermal heating](/source/Geothermal_heat) systems.[12]

He has also served as an advisor to [clean tech](/source/Clean_tech) startups.[13]

## Personal life
