**Matt Bunch** is an [American](/source/United_States) [Republican](/source/Republican_Party_(United_States)) politician currently serving in the [Oregon House of Representatives](/source/Oregon_House_of_Representatives). He represents the [51st district](/source/Oregon's_51st_House_district), located in central [Clackamas County](/source/Clackamas_County%2C_Oregon).

## Career

In retirement, Bunch worked as a school bus driver in Oregon City[1] and owns a small insurance business.[2] He spent most of his career working in insurance as well as a short stint as development director for the Oregon [FFA](/source/National_FFA_Organization) Foundation.

He serves as president of the [Clackamas County Fair](/source/Clackamas_County_Fair_and_Rodeo) Board and the associate director of the [Clackamas County](/source/Clackamas_County%2C_Oregon) Soil and Water Conservation District and formerly served as president of the Clackamas County Farm Bureau.[3]

Bunch ran for the Oregon House of Representatives in 2024, but ultimately dropped out of the primary after [Christine Drazan](/source/Christine_Drazan) announced her candidacy.[4] He was later unanimously appointed by the [Clackamas County](/source/Clackamas_County%2C_Oregon) Commission to finish Drazan's term in the House on November 17, 2025, beating out realtor and former county commission candidate Dana Hindman-Allen and former [Sandy](/source/Sandy%2C_Oregon) Mayor Carl Exner.[5]

## Personal life

Bunch is from [Baker](/source/Baker_City%2C_Oregon), Oregon and attended [Burnt River High School](/source/Burnt_River_High_School) in [Unity](/source/Unity%2C_Oregon) and [Oregon State University](/source/Oregon_State_University) in [Corvallis](/source/Corvallis%2C_Oregon).[6] He was a member of the [Phi Kappa Psi](/source/Phi_Kappa_Psi) fraternity. He is a [Knight of Columbus](/source/Knights_of_Columbus).

Bunch is married. He has 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
