## Career

Surmann was born in [Thuine](/source/Thuine). made his debut on the professional league level in the [2. Bundesliga](/source/2._Bundesliga) for [SV Meppen](/source/SV_Meppen) on 1 August 1997 when he came on as a substitute in the 79th minute in a game against [Fortuna Köln](/source/SC_Fortuna_K%C3%B6ln).
