The **Master Sardines Fishing Champs** were a Philippine [3x3 basketball](/source/3x3_basketball) team which competes in the [PBA 3x3](/source/PBA_3x3), organized by the Philippines' top-flight professional league, [Philippine Basketball Association](/source/Philippine_Basketball_Association) (PBA).

## History

The Master Sardines Fishing Champs were a team sponsored by Universal Canning Inc. which formally expressed its intention to compete in the [PBA 3x3](/source/PBA_3x3) as early as March 2021. Universal Canning had previously fielded at least two teams in the traditional five-a-side game – Bacolod-Master Sardines and the [Zamboanga Family's Brand Sardines](/source/Zamboanga_Family's_Brand_Sardines) in the [Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League](/source/Maharlika_Pilipinas_Basketball_League).[1]

However the team ultimately did not feature in the [first conference](/source/2021_PBA_3x3_season_%E2%80%93_First_conference) of the inaugural [2021 season](/source/2021_PBA_3x3_season).[2] The team joined the season's [second conference](/source/2021_PBA_3x3_season_%E2%80%93_Second_conference).[3][4] The team last played during the [third conference](/source/2021_PBA_3x3_season_%E2%80%93_Third_conference) as they did not return for the [next season](/source/2022%E2%80%9323_PBA_3x3_season).
