Mass Party พรรคมวลชน Founded 13 June 1985 Dissolved 27 March 2010 Headquarters Bangkok, Thailand Politics of Thailand Political parties Elections

The **Mass Party** ([Thai](/source/Thai_language): พรรคมวลชน, [RTGS](/source/Royal_Thai_General_System_of_Transcription): **Phak Muanchon**, pronounced [\[pʰák mūan.choːn\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Thai)) was a former [Thai political party](/source/List_of_political_parties_in_Thailand) that played a role in the [country's politics](/source/Politics_of_Thailand) during the 1980s and 1990s. It was considered a minor party.

It was founded in 1985 by a local [Thonburi](/source/Thonburi) lawyer, Somsak Phakipho. However, an important figure who later became the party leader was [Chalerm Yubamrung](/source/Chalerm_Yubamrung), who had moved from the [Democrat Party](/source/Democrat_Party_(Thailand)). The party was considered to have a strong support base in the Thonburi area of [Bangkok](/source/Bangkok), particularly in the districts of [Bangkok Yai](/source/Bangkok_Yai), [Phasi Charoen](/source/Phasi_Charoen), [Nong Khaem](/source/Nong_Khaem_district), as well as [Bang Khae](/source/Bang_Khae), [Bang Bon](/source/Bang_Bon) and [Bang Khun Thian](/source/Bang_Khun_Thian).[1]

Due to the changing political landscape, the party's influence declined after 2000. Key figures, such as Chalerm Yubamrung, moved to other parties, and ultimately the party was dissolved in 2010.[2]
