**Martin Lukeman** (born 26 March 1985) is an English professional [darts](/source/Darts) player who competes in [Professional Darts Corporation](/source/Professional_Darts_Corporation) (PDC) events. Nicknamed "**Smash**", he reached his first PDC major final at the [2024 Grand Slam of Darts](/source/2024_Grand_Slam_of_Darts), finishing as runner-up to [Luke Littler](/source/Luke_Littler). He finished as runner-up at the [2022 German Darts Grand Prix](/source/2022_German_Darts_Grand_Prix) on the [PDC European Tour](/source/PDC_European_Tour).

Lukeman won a title on the [Challenge Tour](/source/Professional_Darts_Corporation_secondary_tours#Challenge_Tour) in [2015](/source/2015_PDC_Pro_Tour#PDC_Challenge_Tour).

## Career

Lukeman managed to reach the last 16 of the [2017 UK Open](/source/2017_UK_Open). After last-leg wins against Matt Padgett and [Rob Hewson](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Rob_Hewson&action=edit&redlink=1), he defeated [Chris Dobey](/source/Chris_Dobey) 10–5 in the fourth round, before losing 10–3 to [Ian White](/source/Ian_White_(darts_player)) in the fifth round.

Lukeman secured a two-year PDC Tour Card at UK Qualifying School in February 2021, sealing his professional status with a day to spare.

Lukeman reached his maiden [PDC European Tour](/source/PDC_European_Tour) final at the [2022 German Darts Grand Prix](/source/2022_German_Darts_Grand_Prix) by defeating [Adam Gawlas](/source/Adam_Gawlas),[3] [Gabriel Clemens](/source/Gabriel_Clemens),[4] [Keane Barry](/source/Keane_Barry), [Martin Schindler](/source/Martin_Schindler) and [Damon Heta](/source/Damon_Heta).[5] He faced [Luke Humphries](/source/Luke_Humphries) in the final, and was beaten 8–2.

Lukeman reached a maiden major televised final at the [2024 Grand Slam of Darts](/source/2024_Grand_Slam_of_Darts), the first qualifier in the competition's history to make the final, losing 16–3 to [Luke Littler](/source/Luke_Littler).[6][7]
