# Martin Gutteridge

**Martin Gutteridge** (born April 1939)[1] is a British [special effects artist](/source/Special_effects_supervisor) and [miniature maker](/source/Miniature_art).[2] He was nominated for an [Academy Award](/source/Academy_Awards) in the category [Best Visual Effects](/source/Academy_Award_for_Best_Visual_Effects) for the film *[Little Shop of Horrors](/source/Little_Shop_of_Horrors_(1986_film))*.[3]

In addition to his Academy Award nomination, he won a [Primetime Emmy Award](/source/Primetime_Emmy_Awards) and was nominated for two more in the category [Outstanding Special Visual Effects](/source/Primetime_Emmy_Awards#Special_and_visual_effects) for his work on the television programs *[War and Remembrance](/source/War_and_Remembrance_(miniseries))* and *[Hornblower](/source/Hornblower_(TV_series))* and also the television film *[Ironclads](/source/Ironclads_(film))*.[4] In 1971, he founded [Effects Associates](/source/Effects_Associates).
