== Biography ==
Caroe was born on 15 November 1933 was the son of the architect [Alban Caroe](/source/Alban_Caroe) and Gwendolen Mary (née Bragg), daughter of [Sir William Henry Bragg](/source/William_Henry_Bragg).<ref name=":0" /> He was educated at [Amesbury School](/source/Amesbury_School), [Winchester College](/source/Winchester_College) and [Trinity College, Cambridge](/source/Trinity_College%2C_Cambridge) (BA, 1957).<ref name=":0">"Caroe, Martin Bragg, (15 Nov. 1933–19 Nov. 1999), conservation architect, specialising in the care of historic buildings; Partner, Caroe & Partners, since 1963."
