# Martin Bower

**Martin Bower** (born 1952)[2] is a British [miniature model](/source/Miniature_model)-maker[3] and special effects artist for film and television. He built 50 scale models for the TV series *[Space: 1999](/source/Space:_1999)*.[4]

His other credits include the TV series *[The Tomorrow People](/source/The_Tomorrow_People)* (1973–1979), *[Blake's 7](/source/Blake's_7)* (1978–1981), *[The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy](/source/The_Hitchhiker's_Guide_to_the_Galaxy_(TV_series))* (1981),[5] *[Doctor Who](/source/Doctor_Who)*[4] and *[The Tripods](/source/The_Tripods_(TV_series))* (1984–1985), as well as the films *[The Medusa Touch](/source/The_Medusa_Touch_(film))* (1978), *[Alien](/source/Alien_(film))* (1979), *[Flash Gordon](/source/Flash_Gordon_(film))* (1980)[6] and *[Outland](/source/Outland_(film))* (1981).[7]

He has a long-standing professional relationship with effects director [Brian Johnson](/source/Brian_Johnson_(special_effects)).
