Canadian film and television director

**Mark Sawers** is a Canadian film director and writer.[1] Best known for his feature films *[Camera Shy](/source/Camera_Shy_(film))* and *[No Men Beyond This Point](/source/No_Men_Beyond_This_Point)*,[2] he is also a four-time [Genie Award](/source/Genie_Award) nominee for [Best Live Action Short Drama](/source/Canadian_Screen_Award_for_Best_Live_Action_Short_Drama) for his films *[Stroke](/source/Stroke_(film))* at the [13th Genie Awards](/source/13th_Genie_Awards),[3] *[Hate Mail](/source/Hate_Mail_(1993_film))* at the [14th Genie Awards](/source/14th_Genie_Awards),[4] *[Shoes Off!](/source/Shoes_Off!)* at the [19th Genie Awards](/source/19th_Genie_Awards)[5] and *[Lonesome Joe](/source/Lonesome_Joe)* at the [24th Genie Awards](/source/24th_Genie_Awards).[6]

*Shoes Off* also won the Canal+ Award at the [1999 Cannes Film Festival](/source/1999_Cannes_Film_Festival).[7]
