'''Mark Buckley''' (born 25 August 1962) is a former [Australian rules football](/source/Australian_rules_football)er who played with [Carlton](/source/Carlton_Football_Club), [St Kilda](/source/St_Kilda_Football_Club) and the [Brisbane Bears](/source/Brisbane_Bears) in the [Victorian Football League](/source/Australian_Football_League) (VFL) during the 1980s.

Recruited from St Mark's, Buckley participated in a Carlton Under-19s premiership in 1979, not playing seniors until [1982](/source/1982_VFL_season). In the opening round of the [1983 VFL season](/source/1983_VFL_season), against [Richmond](/source/Richmond_Football_Club), Buckley replaced an injured [Ross Ditchburn](/source/Ross_Ditchburn) at [full-forward](/source/full-forward) during the match and kicked six goals.<ref name=AFLTables/> He was a regular fixture in the team for the rest of the season and kicked 29 goals from 20 games.<ref name=AFLTables/> The [following season](/source/1984_VFL_season) he played just twice, with [Western Australian](/source/Western_Australian_Football_League) star [Warren Ralph](/source/Warren_Ralph) taking his spot as a key forward.

After playing only one game in the first half of the [1985 VFL season](/source/1985_VFL_season), Buckley transferred to St Kilda midyear, playing seven games.<ref name=AFLTables/>

Buckley did not play a senior VFL game in [1986](/source/1986_VFL_season) and the [following year](/source/1987_VFL_season) moved to a third club, Brisbane, who were making their league debut. He had 17 disposals and two goals in his first game for the Bears, against [Fitzroy](/source/Fitzroy_Football_Club), but made just three further appearances.<ref name=AFLTables/>

In 1988 Buckley transferred to [South Australian National Football League](/source/South_Australian_National_Football_League) (SANFL) club [Norwood](/source/Norwood_Football_Club) but could only play eight games in two seasons, kicking six goals, before his retirement at the end of the 1989 season.
