**Mariusz Okoniewski** (10 February 1956, in [Poznań](/source/Pozna%C5%84) – 10 February 2006, in [Śmigiel](/source/%C5%9Amigiel)) was a Polish [motorcycle speedway](/source/Motorcycle_speedway) rider.[1][2]

## Career

Okoniewski won the [Team Speedway Polish Championship](/source/Team_Speedway_Polish_Championship) six times and [Polish Silver Helmet](/source/Silver_Helmet_(Poland)) in 1976.[3][4]

His son [Rafał](/source/Rafa%C5%82_Okoniewski) (born 1980) is also a speedway rider. Rafał is the only double [Individual U-19 European Champion](/source/European_Under-19_Individual_Speedway_Championship).[5]

After his racing career he became a coach. Mariusz Okoniewski died on his 50th birthday.
