**Marius Coetzer** (born 4 April 1984) is a former South African [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) footballer whose regular playing position was [lock](/source/Rugby_union_positions#4._Lock).

He played first class rugby in South Africa between 2005 and 2015 and spent the majority of his career at the [Pumas](/source/Pumas_(Currie_Cup)), making exactly 100 appearances for the team from 2009 until he retired at the end of the 2015 season.

He started his career in 2005 with the [Blue Bulls](/source/Bulls_(rugby_union)) before spending a season in [Cape Town](/source/Cape_Town) with [Western Province](/source/Stormers). He then moved to [East Rand](/source/East_Rand) side the [Falcons](/source/Valke_(rugby_union)) where he played in 2007 and 2008 before joining the Pumas.

He also played in six [Super Rugby](/source/Super_Rugby) matches, making five appearances for the [Lions](/source/Lions_(United_Rugby_Championship)) in [2012](/source/2012_Super_Rugby_season) and a single appearance for the [Stormers](/source/Stormers) in [2013](/source/2013_Super_Rugby_season).

In 2013, he was initially included in a [South Africa President's XV](/source/South_Africa_President's_XV) team to play in the [2013 IRB Tbilisi Cup](/source/2013_IRB_Tbilisi_Cup),[1] but withdrew after he linked up with the [Stormers](/source/Stormers) during the [2013 Super Rugby season](/source/2013_Super_Rugby_season).[2]

He was a member of the Pumas side that won the [Vodacom Cup](/source/Vodacom_Cup) for the first time in [2015](/source/2015_Vodacom_Cup), beating [Western Province](/source/Stormers) 24–7 in the final.[3] Coetzer made six appearances during the season.
