# Mario Righetti

**Mario Righetti** (born c. 1590) was an Italian painter of the [Baroque](/source/Baroque) period.[1]

He was born at [Bologna](/source/Bologna). He became a pupil of [Lucio Massari](/source/Lucio_Massari). In Bologna, he painted an *Archangel Michael* for the church of San Guglielmo; a *Christ appearing to the Magdalen* for [San Giacomo Maggiore](/source/San_Giacomo_Maggiore); an *Adoration of the Magi* for the church of [Sant'Agnese](/source/Sant'Agnese,_Bologna); and a *Nativity* that once adorned the church of [Santa Lucia](/source/Santa_Lucia,_Bologna) (now deconsecrated).
