**Mario Garbuglia** (Fontespina, a district of [Civitanova Marche](/source/Civitanova_Marche), 27 May 1927 – Rome, 30 March 2010) was an Italian set designer. He won the [David di Donatello for Best Production Design](/source/David_di_Donatello_for_Best_Production_Design), the [Nastro d'Argento](/source/Nastro_d'Argento), and a [BAFTA](/source/British_Academy_of_Film_and_Television_Arts).

## Life

Garbuglia's professional debut as a designer came in 1950 with *[Women Without Names](/source/Women_Without_Names_(1950_film))*, directed by [Géza von Radványi](/source/G%C3%A9za_von_Radv%C3%A1nyi). Over the years, he worked with directors such as [Luchino Visconti](/source/Luchino_Visconti), [Mario Monicelli](/source/Mario_Monicelli), [Luigi Zampa](/source/Luigi_Zampa), and [Roger Vadim](/source/Roger_Vadim). He died in 2010 after a long illness.[1]
