She worked as an art teacher at various high schools in Sydney from 1956 to 1962. Her sister Elizabeth is a historian who married fellow historian [Keith Windschuttle](/source/Keith_Windschuttle).[2] Her productions include *[The Removalists](/source/The_Removalists)* (1975), *[My Brilliant Career](/source/My_Brilliant_Career_(film))* (1979), *[For Love Alone](/source/For_Love_Alone)* (1986), *[Edens Lost](/source/Edens_Lost)* (1988) (for TV), and *[Candy](/source/Candy_(2006_film))* (2006).[1] She was part of the [Sydney Push](/source/Sydney_Push), a libertarian group of the 1950s and 1960s that included [Lillian Roxon](/source/Lillian_Roxon), [Germaine Greer](/source/Germaine_Greer), [Clive James](/source/Clive_James), [Robert Hughes](/source/Robert_Hughes_(critic)) and [Frank Moorhouse](/source/Frank_Moorhouse).[3] While still known as Margaret Elliott, she published [Harry Hooton](/source/Harry_Hooton)'s last book, *It Is Great To Be Alive*.[4][5] In 1961 she married Leon Fink, a renowned restaurateur, philanthropist and property developer.[6] They have three children together: Hannah, John and Ben. She has also had relationships with [Barry Humphries](/source/Barry_Humphries), [Jim McNeil](/source/Jim_McNeil) and Bill Harding. Her daughter, Hannah Fink, is a writer.[7] John Fink is a restaurateur and filmmaker. Ben Fink is a musician.
