Romer wrote and directed the 2014 feature film [The Knife That Killed Me](/source/The_Knife_That_Killed_Me_(film)). He was the artistic director of [Pilot Theatre](/source/Pilot_Theatre) in [York](/source/York), [England](/source/England) from [1993 - 2016](https://www.thestage.co.uk/news/pilot-theatres-marcus-romer-to-leave-touring-company). ## Directing ### Theatre As a stage director, Romer has won three [Manchester Evening News Theatre Awards](/source/Manchester_Evening_News_Theatre_Awards) for productions of *[Lord of the Flies](/source/Lord_of_the_Flies)*, and *[Beautiful Thing](/source/Beautiful_Thing_(play))* (2005).
