# Marcus Monroe

**Marcus Monroe** is an actor/juggler/TV personality currently living in New York City. He moved to New York in 2004 to pursue a career in entertainment. Marcus has appeared on many TV shows including [MTV](/source/MTV)'s *[TRL](/source/Total_Request_Live)*, [ABC Family](/source/Freeform_(TV_channel))'s *[Switched!](/source/Switched!_(American_TV_series))*, [Nickelodeon](/source/Nickelodeon)'s *Slime Across America* and was the host of [Discovery Kids](/source/Discovery_Kids)' *[Mad Science](/source/Mad_Science)*. He also appeared in the 2000 film adaptation of the book *[Wisconsin Death Trip](/source/Wisconsin_Death_Trip)*. He is an original member of the Shoebox Tour with [Jay Gilligan](/source/Jay_Gilligan).[1] Monroe, along with [Ben Seidman](/source/Ben_Seidman) and [Luke Jermay](/source/Luke_Jermay) is a founding member of The Optical Delusions, a 2008 touring show that billed itself as "an evening of new-school variety."[2]

Monroe claims he created the **knorch** – a combination [knife](/source/Knife) and [fire-torch](/source/Torch) used for juggling stunts.[1]

Marcus is also a frequent performer on the Carnival, Disney, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.[1][better source needed]
