== Life and career ==
Born in [Livorno](/source/Livorno), Messeri studied painting at the [Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze](/source/Accademia_di_Belle_Arti_di_Firenze) and acting at the drama school of the [Piccolo Teatro](/source/Piccolo_Teatro_(Milan)) in [Milan](/source/Milan).<ref name=bio>{{cite book|author1=Felice Cappa |author2=Piero Gelli |author3=Marco Mattarozzi |title=Dizionario dello spettacolo del '900|year=1998 |publisher=Baldini & Castoldi, 1998|isbn=8880892959}}</ref>
