# Marc Moens

**Marc Moens** ([Ledeberg](/source/Ledeberg), 17 January 1943) is a [Belgian](/source/Belgium) [canoe sprinter](/source/Canoe_sprint) who competed in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was eliminated in the semifinals of the [K-1 1000 m](/source/Canoeing_at_the_1968_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_K-1_1000_metres) event at the [1968 Summer Olympics](/source/1968_Summer_Olympics) in [Mexico City](/source/Mexico_City). [Four years later](/source/1972_Summer_Olympics) at the [1972 Summer Olympics](/source/1972_Summer_Olympics) in [Munich](/source/Munich), Moens was eliminated in the semifinals of the [K-2 1000 m](/source/Canoeing_at_the_1972_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_K-2_1000_metres) event with teammate [Herman Naegels](/source/Herman_Naegels).

After his sprint career, Moens started paddling in [ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships](/source/ICF_Canoe_Marathon_World_Championships) and became world champion in his age category in 2007 in [Györ](/source/Gy%C5%91r).

Marc Moens is a retired garage holder, and still canoeing (edited April 2022) as a member of [Koninklijke Cano Club Gent](/source/Koninklijke_Cano_Club_Gent).
