**Marc M. Mouton** (June 1, 1901 – August 30, 1944) served as the 40th [lieutenant governor of Louisiana](/source/Lieutenant_governor_of_Louisiana) from 1940 until 1944 during the administration of [Governor](/source/Governor_of_Louisiana) [Sam Houston Jones](/source/Sam_Houston_Jones). He graduated from the medical department of [Tulane University](/source/Tulane_University) in [New Orleans, Louisiana](/source/New_Orleans%2C_Louisiana).[1]

He married Alice Campbell, daughter of Judge William Campbell.[2] Mouton, a [Democrat](/source/Democratic_Party_(United_States)), was a resident of [Lafayette, Louisiana](/source/Lafayette%2C_Louisiana), and died in the summer of 1944 shortly after vacating the office of lieutenant governor to [J. Emile Verret](/source/J._Emile_Verret) of [New Iberia](/source/New_Iberia%2C_Louisiana).[3]
