**Marc Fitzpatrick** (born 11 May 1986) is a Scottish professional [football](/source/Association_football) coach and a former player. He played a [left winger](/source/Midfielder#Winger) or [left back](/source/Defender_(association_football)#Wing-back). He has previously played for [Motherwell](/source/Motherwell_F.C.), [Ross County](/source/Ross_County_F.C.), [Queen of the South](/source/Queen_of_the_South_F.C.) and [Greenock Morton](/source/Greenock_Morton_F.C.).

## Career

### Club

Fitzpatrick came through the youth system at [Motherwell](/source/Motherwell_F.C.) and made his debut against [Celtic](/source/Celtic_F.C.) on 12 May 2004.[1]

In [2004–05](/source/2004%E2%80%9305_in_Scottish_football), Fitzpatrick scored a last-minute winner in a [Scottish League Cup](/source/Scottish_League_Cup) semi-final against [Hearts](/source/Heart_of_Midlothian_F.C.) at [Easter Road](/source/Easter_Road).[2] The 3–2 win after extra time earned Motherwell their first [major final](/source/2005_Scottish_League_Cup_Final) appearance since the [1991 Scottish Cup Final](/source/1991_Scottish_Cup_Final). Remarkably, it was his first senior goal for the club. In May 2008, Fitzpatrick signed a two-year contract extension with the [Fir Park](/source/Fir_Park) outfit.[3]

On 13 January 2011, Fitzpatrick signed a two-year deal with [Highland](/source/Scottish_Highlands) team [Ross County](/source/Ross_County_F.C.), after rejecting the offer of a six-month extension at Fir Park.[4]

Fitzpatrick joined the [Dumfries](/source/Dumfries) club, Queen of the South on 19 March 2013, until the end of the season after playing as a trialist on 16 March 2013 at [Gayfield Park](/source/Gayfield_Park) versus [Arbroath](/source/Arbroath_F.C.), where he played for 65 minutes.[5] On 7 April 2013, he played the full match as Queen of the South won the [2013 Scottish Challenge Cup](/source/2013_Scottish_Challenge_Cup_Final), defeating [Partick Thistle](/source/Partick_Thistle_F.C.) 6–5 on penalties following a 1–1 draw after extra-time.[6]

Fitzpatrick moved to [Greenock Morton](/source/Greenock_Morton_F.C.) on 9 July 2013, after playing in a trial match against former club Motherwell on the Saturday.[7] He left the club at the end of the season in search of part-time football.[8]

On 4 June 2014, Fitzpatrick signed for [Airdrieonians](/source/Airdrieonians_F.C.) where he has since been made captain.[9]

### International

Fitzpatrick made three appearances for the [Scotland under-21](/source/Scotland_national_under-21_football_team) side in 2007.[10]
