# Malcolm Preedy

**Malcolm Preedy** (born 15 September 1960 (age 65)) is a former [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) player, a prop who played for [Gloucester](/source/Gloucester_Rugby)[1] and gained one cap for [England v South Africa](/source/England_vs_South_Africa_at_rugby_union) in 1984, where along with [Steve Mills](/source/Steve_Mills_(rugby_union)) and [Phil Blakeway](/source/Phil_Blakeway) he formed part of the first one club [front-row](/source/Front_row_(rugby_union)) to represent [England](/source/England_national_rugby_union_team).[2]

Between 1979 and 1991 Malcolm Preedy played 313 games for Gloucester, scoring 14 [tries](/source/Try_(rugby)) and 1 [drop goal](/source/Drop_goal) and was captain in 1986–87. After leaving [Gloucester](/source/Gloucester_Rugby) he played for Cheltenham RFC, and in 1992 played one game for [Birkenhead Park](/source/Birkenhead_Park_FC), against Gloucester at [Kingsholm](/source/Kingsholm_Stadium).
