# Major Shaw

**Major Shaw** (July 12, 1840 in [Kent, New York](/source/Kent,_New_York) – May 20, 1874[1]) was a member of the [Wisconsin State Assembly](/source/Wisconsin_State_Assembly) during the 1872 session.[2] Previously, he had been elected as a town supervisor of [Sherman, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin](/source/Sherman,_Sheboygan_County,_Wisconsin) in 1869. He was a [Republican](/source/Republican_Party_of_Wisconsin). Shaw was born on July 12, 1840, in [Kent, New York](/source/Kent,_New_York).[3]
