Its native range is [Tropical Africa](/source/Tropical_Africa) and Madagascar. It is found in the countries of Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zaïre.<ref name="POWO" />
