# Maireella

***Maireella*** is a [genus](/source/Genus) of [fungi](/source/Fungus) in the class [Dothideomycetes](/source/Dothideomycetes). The relationship of this [taxon](/source/Taxon) to other taxa within the class is unknown (*[incertae sedis](/source/Incertae_sedis)*).[1]

The genus name of *Maireella* is in honour of [René Charles Joseph Ernest Maire](/source/Ren%C3%A9_Charles_Joseph_Ernest_Maire) (1878–1949), who was a French botanist and mycologist.[2]

The genus was [circumscribed](/source/Circumscription_(taxonomy)) in Ann. Mycol. vol.6 on page 145 in 1908.
