**Maira Valley** (in [Italian](/source/Italian_language) *Val Maira* or *Valle Macra*) is a valley in south-west of [Piedmont](/source/Piedmont) in the [Province of Cuneo](/source/Province_of_Cuneo), [Italy](/source/Italy).

## Etymology

The valley takes its name from the river [Maira](/source/Maira_(river)), a right-hand [tributary](/source/Tributary) of the [Po](/source/Po_(river)) which flows through the valley.
