# Mahesh Chhetri

**Mahesh Kumar Chhetri** (Nepali: महेश कुमार क्षेत्री) (born 26 January 1988) is a Nepalese [cricketer](/source/Cricket). Mahesh is a right-handed opening [batsman](/source/Batsman) and a [wicket-keeper](/source/Wicket-keeper).[1] He made his debut for [Nepal](/source/Nepal_national_cricket_team) against [Singapore](/source/Singapore_national_cricket_team) in April 2005.[2]

He represents the [Jagdamba Giants](/source/Jagdamba_Giants) of the [Nepal Premier League](/source/Nepal_Premier_League), [Nepal Army Club](/source/Nepal_Army_Club) of the [National League](/source/National_League_Cricket_(Nepal)) and Pentagon International College, which plays in the SPA Cup.

## Playing career

Chhetri has played in the U-15 [Asia Cup](/source/Asia_Cup) 2002/3, the [ACC](/source/Asian_Cricket_Council) U-17 cup 2003/4, the [ACC Fast Track Countries Tournament](/source/ACC_Fast_Track_Countries_Tournament) 2005, the [ACC Under-19 Cup](/source/ACC_Under-19_Cup) 2005/6, the [2006 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup](/source/2006_ICC_Under-19_Cricket_World_Cup), the [2006 ACC Trophy](/source/2006_ACC_Trophy), the 2007 ACC Under-19 Elite Cup, the [2007 ACC Twenty20 Cup](/source/2007_ACC_Twenty20_Cup), the [2008 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup](/source/2008_ICC_Under-19_Cricket_World_Cup), [2008 Division Five](/source/2008_ICC_World_Cricket_League_Division_Five), [2008 ACC Trophy Elite](/source/2008_ACC_Trophy_Elite), [2009 ACC Twenty20 Cup](/source/2009_ACC_Twenty20_Cup), [2010 Division Five](/source/2010_ICC_World_Cricket_League_Division_Five) and later in the [2014 World Cup Qualifier](/source/2014_Cricket_World_Cup_Qualifier).[3]

In the 2015 National One Day Cricket Tournament, he scored 384 runs in 7 innings at an average of 54.86, with three fifties and a century. He was awarded the Player of the Tournament award as his side, [Nepal Army Club](/source/Nepal_Army_Club), won the title.[4] He played for Troon Cricket Club, a cricket club in England, in Cornwall Cricket League Division 2 in July 2015. He scored an unbeaten 64 runs in a match against Gulval Cricket Club and dismissed a batsman by stumping.[5] He was subsequently selected in Nepal's squad for the [2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship](/source/2015%E2%80%9317_ICC_World_Cricket_League_Championship)'s matches against [Scotland](/source/Scotland_national_cricket_team).[6]
