**Magura-1** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh). The constituency is located in [Magura District](/source/Magura_District) of [Khulna Division](/source/Khulna_Division).

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Sreepur Upazila](/source/Sreepur_Upazila%2C_Magura), Magura Municipality, and nine [union parishads](/source/Union_Parishad) of [Magura Sadar Upazila](/source/Magura_Sadar_Upazila): Atharakhada, Bagia, Chaulia, Hazrapur, Jagdal, Kasundi, Maghi, and Raghab Dair.[1][2]

## History

The constituency was created in 1984 from the Jessore-12 constituency when the former Jessore District was split into four districts: [Jhenaidah](/source/Jhenaidah_District), [Jessore](/source/Jessore_District), [Magura](/source/Magura_District), and [Narail](/source/Narail_District).[3]
