# Magothy Formation

The **Magothy Formation** is an [Upper Cretaceous](/source/Upper_Cretaceous) [geologic formation](/source/Formation_(geology)) in northeastern [Maryland](/source/Maryland).[1] It preserves [fossils](/source/Fossils) dating back to the [Turonian](/source/Turonian) stage of the [Cretaceous](/source/Cretaceous) [period](/source/Period_(geology)).
