The [Magat River Integrated Irrigation System Project](/source/Magat_Dam), started by the [National Irrigation Administration](/source/National_Irrigation_Administration) in the 1960s, is one of the Philippine's largest [irrigation](/source/irrigation) projects with [hydroelectric](/source/hydroelectric) power generation capacity. Its total cost amounted to US$500 million.<ref name="nwin">

It is also includes [hydroelectric power](/source/hydroelectric_power) plants; {{convert|360|MW}} at Magat reservoir, {{convert|6,000|kW}} at Baligatan and {{convert|2,500|kW}} Magat mini-hydroelectric power plants in Maris main canal.
