# Madell Point

**Madell Point** ([66°35′S 66°22′W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=66_35_S_66_22_W)) is a point 2 nautical miles (4 km) northeast of [Cape Rey](/source/Cape_Rey) on the northwest coast of [Pernik Peninsula](/source/Pernik_Peninsula), on the [Loubet Coast](/source/Loubet_Coast) of [Graham Land](/source/Graham_Land), [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica). It was mapped from air photos taken by the [Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition](/source/Falkland_Islands_and_Dependencies_Aerial_Survey_Expedition) (1956–57), and was named for [James S. Madell](/source/James_S._Madell), a [Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey](/source/Falkland_Islands_Dependencies_Survey) surveyor at [Detaille Island](/source/Detaille_Island) in 1957, who was responsible for the triangulation of this area.[1]
