**Macronutrient preload** is a [dieting](/source/Dieting) technique in which a small amount of [macronutrients](/source/Macronutrient) are eaten at a fixed interval before a meal.[citation needed]

Fibers in a preload stimulate a feeling of fullness in the stomach. The [glucomannan](/source/Glucomannan) fiber preload is approved for weight control by [European Food Safety Authority](/source/European_Food_Safety_Authority)[1] The preload should also have a low [glycemic index](/source/Glycemic_index) and contain few calories.
