**Mackenzie James Hunt** ([Arabic](/source/Arabic_language): ماكنزي جيمس هانت, born 14 November 2001) is a professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)) and [midfielder](/source/Midfielder) for Emirati club [Baniyas](/source/Baniyas_Club). Born in England, he plays for the [United Arab Emirates national team](/source/United_Arab_Emirates_national_football_team).

## Club career

Hunt initially joined [Everton](/source/Everton_F.C.) aged 6, but moved to Dubai with his family before returning to Everton aged 13.[3] He never made an appearance for the club and joined [Fleetwood Town](/source/Fleetwood_Town_F.C.) in July 2024.[3][4]

In August 2025 he signed for Emirati club [Baniyas](/source/Baniyas_Club).[5]

## International career

Hunt is eligible to play for the UAE due to living in [Dubai](/source/Dubai) for seven years and obtaining citizenship. On 30 August 2024, Hunt was called up to the [United Arab Emirates national team](/source/United_Arab_Emirates_national_football_team) to take part in the [2026 FIFA World Cup qualification](/source/2026_FIFA_World_Cup_qualification_%E2%80%93_AFC_third_round) matches.[6][7] He made his debut on 5 September 2024, coming on as an 88th minute substitute against [Qatar](/source/Qatar_national_football_team).[8]
